PLANETHAIR ® since 2000 the first Italian e-commerce and one of the first in Europe for online sales of Professional Hair Products.

Our journey began in 2000 in the typical garage of all startups, on the lower floor of a hair salon in the historic center of the beautiful town of Barga, Tuscany.
Among various computers, printers, and the warehouse all in one big room, it was a game of dexterity to move around whenever something needed printing or a courier arrived, and we had to move without knocking over the shelves with the products.
In 2000, along with the technological difficulties of an industry, e-commerce, which was in its infancy in Italy (all website software, both front-end and back-end, was developed internally), there was a need for a good dose of patience, a lot of convincing power, and countless trips to Milan to explain to the managers of all the big brands that both the software and all the procedures we had implemented made Planethair a reliable and secure site, as well as a pleasant and professional experience for buying online.
At that time, for a professional or luxury brand, entrusting online distribution to the first Italian website in the sector was not an easy decision!
Fortunately, our efforts were rewarded; managers took responsibility only after lengthy negotiations, and the majority of the big brands granted us their trust, licensing us to distribute their products online.
In those years, it was a great achievement. We remember that Amazon itself only landed in Italy 10 years later! (November 23, 2010).
Not long after, in fact, we moved to a 600 sq m warehouse in the nearby artisan center downstream. No more balancing acts, now we had space for offices and a large warehouse.
We knew that being the first in Italy to open an online store for professional hair products would not be enough. Others would look at us and try to do the same.
Our goal from the outset was therefore to become the best site to buy hair products online, the virtual "shop" where you could buy professional hair products from all over Italy with a few clicks.
The image above is a copy of how the site appeared in 2001, just over a year after going online, taken from archive.org, the massive American site that has indexed all the most important websites since the early years of commercial internet. By simply clicking the image, you will be redirected to archive.org and can observe how the graphical interface during the first decade of our adventure exactly reproduced how our customers saw the site from a desktop or laptop computer. Then, with the introduction of the iPhone by Apple and the legendary Steve Jobs, the site was completely redesigned and optimized for smartphone browsing, and the versions captured by archive.org are not as graphically faithful to what the customer saw.
The website's graphics and technology have changed many times over 20 years, and the product range has expanded, but the fundamental principle has remained the same.
We select only the best for you: the best products for every need with impeccable service: the site is reliable, secure, easy to navigate, with fast delivery, easy returns, instant after-sales assistance, and excellent prices without the overload of advertising costs.
In a market where hundreds of new brands and products are constantly emerging, we test new brands now, just as we did 20 years ago, and only add them to the site if they meet the quality and results criteria we expect.
You don't have to choose between 100 types of hair straighteners or skin creams for every need; we do it for you as a service, saving you time and safeguarding the future health of your skin and hair.
We have chosen not to produce our own brands, as some companies have been doing in recent years by leveraging the image of their founders on social media, for a specific reason: we do not believe that the quality of a product developed with significant investments in the laboratories of a multinational company that then distributes it worldwide can be replaced by a private-label product developed by a company with a few tens of millions in turnover.

We will celebrate the site's 20th anniversary with customers and collaborators two years late due to the pandemic, which caused us to postpone everything we had planned.
